With the holiday season coming up I thought I would share some bookish gift ideas that you can give someone or ideas to put on your christmas list.

Library Bookcase Chair
This is the ultimate reading nook chair where you can store all your favourite books and have comfortable place to sit and read. This chair is really pricey ( just over $4,000) as it is made to order but if you have the kind of cash you can buy it off etsy.

Do you like reading in the bath but worried your book might get wet, then this bath caddy is for you. It has a perfect little stand to prop up your book while holding it securely. It also has a place to hold your drink. Now you can read in peace knowing you won't drop you book. You can buy this caddy off amazon.

What goes perfect with any book? A nice hot cup of coffee, hot chocolate or tea, which ever you prefer. What better way to enjoy a nice cup then this mug that expresses your one true love of reading. You can buy this book of etsy.

Book tag

Hey guys, how are you all doing? It has been a stressful week, I have been doing lots of writing which is good. Any ways this week I will be answering a few book questions.

HOW MANY BOOKS ARE TOO MANY FOR A SERIES?

It all depends. I am the type of person who gets bored easily, so sometimes when I am in the middle of a series I get bored and what to read other books. It is the same for tv shows. I have a problem where I start a show then halfway through I find another series I want to watch and get bored of the old one. Then when I try to start the the old show again, I  forget what had already happen and I have to re watch from the start.

OLDEST BOOK YOU’VE READ BY PUBLICATION DATE?

Peter Pan by James Matthew Barrie. It was published in 1904. The movie was always one of my favourites and I didn't get a chance to read the book till I got a copy in my owl crate box one month.

FAVOURITE AUTHOR?

Sarah Dessen has always been one of my favourite authors. I even did a blog post about my fav and least fav sarah dessen books. I read books when I was in school but most of the I was forced to read so I didn't really get any enjoyment out of it. It wasn't till my cousin gave me a bunch of her hand me downs that included Sarah's book just listen that I fell in love with reading.

A BOOK YOU CAN ALWAYS RE-READ

I have a lot of books that I like to re-read but some of my fav re-reads are Just Listen by Sarah Dessen or Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

DO YOU READ A BOOK IN ONE SITTING OR OVER MULTIPLE DAYS?

Sometimes a book is so good you don't want to stop reading. Sometimes a book is so good that you never want it to end so you take your time reading so you can savour every last word. Sometimes the book is just too long to finish in one go.

DO YOU GET SICK WHILE READING IN THE CAR?

That is the best time to get some reading done. I would always been tons of books whenever my family would go on a road trip. Back when I took the city bus to get to school (I spent about 2 hours everyday on the bus) I would bring whatever book I was reading at the time.

Harry Potter or Twilight? Give 3 Reasons Why.

Back in the day when Twilight first came out everyone was talking about it. All my friends were reading it and my mom wanted to read it so she bought the whole series and we both became obsessed with the books and movie. And I know you guys are probably wonder but I was team Edward which is cringe looking back now. Like I bought an Edward charm bracelet which I still have somewhere. Now I realized that Jacob is the better and hotter choice. By the time I got to the last book, I had realized that the books weren't that great and I don't think I even finished it. But I did watch the rest of the movies just to finish the series.
As a kid I never really cared for the harry potter series. I had only seen the first two movies because  my grandma had it on vhs (I feel old I know). It wasn't till I was older and decided to give the book a chance that I feel in love with it.

WHAT IS THE THICKEST BOOK ON YOUR SHELF?

It by Stephen King is has 1138 pages. I have never read a Stephen King book before and I thought It would be a great place to start. I still haven't read it yet but I think that is because I dread reading that many pages.

Well that is all for this week, hope you guys enjoy the rest of your week and I will see you all later

Fav and least fav Sarah Dessen books

Hey guys. Sorry for being M.I.A the last few weeks. I have been busy with work, school, and making a Harry Potter quilt for Tea-riffics birthday (if you want to see pictures of the finished quilt you can head on over to our instagram @the_readingcafe). Any ways for this weeks blog post I thought I would talk about one of my favourite others Sarah Dessen. Now I have read alomst all her books except for a couple and I thought I would tell you guys my favourite and least favourite book by her.

One of my all time favourite Sarah Dessen book is Just Listen. I can't even count the amount of times I have read this book. What really draws me to the book is the music aspect. I am a big music fan and really like books that include music whether it be a book about a band/singer or it could be people talking about their favourite songs. I really enjoy that people from different worlds come together though music even though the have completely different tastes.

Another one of my favourites is Along for the Ride. This book is the first ever Sarah Dessen book that I have read. One of my friends recommended her to me and let me borrow her copy of the book. Throughout the book you follow a girl named Auden who is a girl who is focused on school and tries to be the perfect daughter. You would think the book would be a cliche where Auden meets a bad boy and starts having out with the party crowed  but this book is different. Auden goes to stay at her dads for the summer and meets Eli who shows her all the great things she missed as a child like going bowling. I really falling in love with Eli's character he is a dark and mysteries guy but past all that he is a really sweet guy.

There has never been a Sarah Dessen book that I have read that I did not enjoy, however there that I don't think I will ever read. One of those books is Once and for All. I see this book every time I go to the book store but I pick it up and read the back and then put it back down again. I don't think the whole daughter of wedding planner idea is all that interesting. For the description of the back, the book seems like a typical cliche where a sweet girl looking for her one true love ends up dating a player. Maybe one day in the far far future I will give this book a chance but as of now it is a pass.

Well thats all I have for this weeks post. Hope you all have a great week and see you next Monday.

Best Romance Lines

Books have the sweetest lines. The boy to the girl, and the girl to the boy. They are so romantic.

1. The One by Kiera Cass:

“Break my heart. Break it a thousand times if you like. It was only ever yours to break anyway.”

2. Harry Potter - the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling:

“What do I care how he looks? I am good-looking enough for both of us, I theenk!"

3. The Princess Bride by William Goldman

"Do I love you? My god, if your love were a grain of sand, mine would be a universe of beaches."

4. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

“Remember, we're madly in love, so it's all right to kiss me anytime you feel like it.”

5. Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon

Spoiler alert: Love is worth everything. Everything.”

See you all next week!
