1. Pick books that are short and sweet
I always find it easier to get out of a reading slump if I read a short book. I can read a short book really fast which makes me feel good about myself and also makes me want to read more books.
2.Don't start a new series
If I start a series while in a reading slump, I usually finish the first book but with a bit of a struggle. Then I look over at all the other books in the series and dread reading them.
3. Give yourself a huge block of time to read
I find it hard to get into a book if I only give myself a few minutes to read. I find it helps best if I give myself enough time to read a couple chapters and really get in to the book.
4. Reread a favourite book
I sometimes find it helpful to get out of a reading slump by rereading one of my favourite book. Nothing will remind you of how much you like reading like rereading an old favourite.
5. Go to the bookstore
Want a cure for the lack of reading motivation you have been feeling lately? The best way is to go to the bookstore and buy something shiny and new. I get excited when I get a new book and want to start reading it the moment I buy it.
6. Listen to an audiobook
Sometimes I find myself in a reading slump because I can't find the time to read. An audiobook is perfect because you can listen to it any time and multitask. You can listen to it while getting ready in the morning, while your driving to work, or whatever else.
8. Read a new book from your favourite author
Reading a book new book from your favourite author makes getting out of a reading slump easier. You know you will probably like the book and you get excited to read a book that you have not read from one of your most loved authors.
Thats all I have for this weeks post. I hope this post has helped you in some you to get out of your reading slump that you may be in. See you all next week.
